Soweto Melodic Voices was co-
founded by Leslie and Neria Madikane in May 2007. This was an initiative to close an educational gap in the lives of local children and the lack of learning opportunities in the area of music and traditional dances. It comprises of 38 youths aged 14-25.

The youths were brought together with the purpose of keeping them engaged; nurturing them physically, educationally, mentally, spiritually and most of all encouraging their natural talent. This also provided an opportunity to educate them in life and develop coping skills in the area of HIV and Aids, tennage pregnancy and the impact caused by excessive alcohol and drug usage.

Their debut album 'Harambee' was recorded on location in Soweto, South Africa in 2014 and features the very best in traditional African, Chorale and Gospel music.
